| "Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion R2" Leaked out on Internet by Accident Before its TV Air | | | The anime "Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion R2" leaked out and shown on the Internet by accident before its official Television air date. According to the press release of Bandai Channel that handles the web release of "Code Geass - Lelouch of the Rebellion R2" and Code Geass Production Committee, the part that was leaked out and shown on the net was part of episode #3 scheduled to be shown on April 20 (Sun) from 17:00 on the television. That particular part was originally selected to verify unauthorized submission on the internet.
| | | Doraemon Appointed as the Anime Ambassador | | | On March 19, Japan's all-time-favorite anime character "Doraemon" was appointed as the "Anime Ambassador" of Japan. The inauguration was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and received an official assignment letter from Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura.
| | | Court Decision on Cominica's Tax Evasion Case | | | On the tax evasion case in which Cominica, Inc's president and its corporate lawyer were arrested on November last year, the Tokyo District Court had came to a decision on March 21. The president of the company and the defendant Kyoko Ookubo, 52, received one year of prison sentence with three years of probation, while the former prosecutor and former corporate lawyer, defendant Takanobu Takehara, 49, received 10 months in prison with 3 years of probation. As a corporate body Cominica also received a fine of 14million yen.
| | | Washinomiya Registers the Hiiragi Family of "Lucky Star", Issues Special "Juminhyo" | | | The town of Washinomiya (Kita Katsushika County, Saitama Prefecture), famous for being the setting of the work "Lucky Star (Raki-Suta)" has registered the Hiiragi family as their official resident, and to celebrate this event, the town will be issuing a special "Juminhyo" (a registry of current residential addresses maintained by local governments) from April 7 (Monday). The number of this special "Juminhyo" is limited to 10,000 copies, and prior to its official release, 5,000 copies will be issued at the "day of special issuing" on April 6 (Sunday).
| | | The Live-action "Dragonball" Movie to be Released on March 2009 in Japan | | | Hollywood's 100 million dollars production budget live-action movie "Dragonball" is announced to be released in Japan on March 2009.
