Second season of the popular anime, "xxxHOLiC: Kei" is scheduled to be broadcasted from April this year.

"XXXHOLIC" is an anime adoption of a comic series by the same title created by CLAMP, serialized on the weekly young magazine (published from Kodansha). The first season was aired from April to June 2006, and it was praised for its high quality animation that had expressed the world view of one of the most popular manga to its fullest extent.

Most of the staff members from the first season will be continue participating in the production of the second season. The members of the staffs include the director, Tsutomu Mizushima (known for works such as:"Ookiku Furikabutte"(director), "Kujibiki Unbalance"(director, series organization, storyboard), the animated movie "xxxHolic: A Midsummer Night's Dream" (director, storyboard, production), etc.); series organization is handled by Ageha Ohkawa of CLAMP and Michiko Yokote (who handled "Saint Seiya: Meiou Hadis JuniKuhen", "Nabari no Ou", "You're Under Arrest: second season" (Series Organization, etc)); and character design is done by Kazuchika Kise (who handled "Mobile Police Patlabor", "Evangelion Series", "Blood+" (animation supervisor)), etc. The anime production is done by Production I.G that handled works like "Ghost in the Shell series", "The Prince of Tennis series", etc.

The anime is planned to start on April 2008, at Tokyo Broadcasting Systems (TBS) related stations.

And one more happy news for the CLAMP fans. Prior to the broadcasting of "xxxHOLiC: Kei", there will be an event "Anime xxxHOLiC: Kei: Pre-Party" to be held on March 15 (Sat). The planned guests of honor includes the members of CLAMP and the director Tsutomu Mizushima, so it will certainly be a great event to attend. However, with the members of CLAMP coming to the pre-party, there is a very high possibility of its ticket being sold out. For those who wish to attend, it will be a wiser choice to purchase the ticket sooner.
