It
was announced that 9700 attendees participated AX2000, plus loads
of guests and company booths. The special site dedicated for vending
- called "Exhibition Hall" was packed with people for the entire
3 days running, with more than 70 booths to entertain the visitors.
From
the authentic booths like Bandai and Viz Communications to smaller,
some-what "doujin" types of booths, there were thousands of goods,
cel works, books and so on lined up.
There
were moments some booths decided to do a special service and threw
their items away into the crowd - and as seen on the front page,
the hall was like a huge summer sale of anime products...
1.
ANIMAXIS didn't have a vending booth, but one to
recruit new members and to introduce our site, company and alliance
with AIC and Studio Hard.
We gave away T-shirt and plastic folders with "Tenchi Muyo" pics
on, and those newly registered were pretty darn pleased!!
2. By the way, our official cosplay girl of the event was this lovely
Hidiri-chan from a group called "CosplayX"!!
She dressed as Rum from "Urusei Yatsura", Akari from "Battle Atheletess"
and Comet-san (now made into anime!).
3.
Banzai Anime, one of the local anime stores in LA had lots of
manga, anime goods and great T-shirts!!
4.
Well, Bandai's always one of the most popular (and biggest) booths...
5.
A booth dedicated to selling figures - reminded us of attending
"Wonder Festival"
6.
... A "doujin" booth selling hand-painted anime characters.
7.
Personally, I liked this booth selling hand-painted(?) anime characters
on quilts. There were anime quilts from "Ah! My Goddess" and "Kiki's
Delivery Service", and I was pretty amazed at the quality. This
booth however did not have licensing rights to any of the characters.
