(Regarding the best features of the series)

A - Please tell us the best features of this series.

TH - I think that the music is really good this time. It's a bit of an inside story, but the music was composed by Toshiyuki Watanabe, who is the son of Chumei (Michiaki) Watanabe, the composer of the music for the Dangaioh OVA version. Like his father, Watanabe-san has done a lot of music for film so the music is a full scale orchestral production. Also he previously composed the music for "Devilman Lady", which I thought was really good so I asked him to do the music this time round.

A - So he understands your taste in music?

TH - Yes he does. Also we both come from around the same generation so he could really understand where I was coming from.

A - Were there any other aspects that you were particular about?

TH - I was very particular about the voice actors. I'd decided that if I was ever to do another Dangaioh then I wanted Akira Kamiya and Takashi Aono in the cast. This was the first thing I requested - for them to be included.

A - So that means that the big brother of Kaya will continue to appear?

TH - Of course. Especially in the latter half.

A - From Episode 2 the story seems to have more of a comic element to it. Does this mean that it will be turning into a love-comic-robot-action-anime?

TH - I really made an effort to include a lot of different elements in this work. I thought that it needed a bit more fun in it so I added in a comic element. After Episode 10 though it becomes quite serious. Overall the series goes through a lot of different moods.

A - So you mean that it won't go as we expect?

TH - Yes that's right. I think that we are going to make the viewers experience a complete turn around and change how they think it will end. I imagine that viewers will probably say "How can it end like this?"

A - Does that mean that we can expect a sequel?

TH - I'm not sure about that at this stage. I would like to but honestly if it doesn't sell then we won't be able to continue. We are referring to this current series as the first series, and there is a definite conclusion to the Kuya thread in the story. However all the other threads running through the story are going to be left open and a second series is pretty much necessary to conclude these. As for the creators of the anime, we would like to prepare for that (the making of a second series).

A - Well we are definitely after some Dangaioh items...

TH - I've heard that some character action figures will be released later this year. And posters and telephone cards as well. By December the videos will be released, so I hope this will help more items to be created.
