- AIC works have many fans overseas. How do you feel about these
fans?
TH - I've met
some fans from France but meeting fans from overseas gives me a
feeling of nostalgia - mainly because they think along similar lines
to Japanese fans from the 80's. I guess that some years from now
their attitude towards anime will catch up with the attitude of
current Japanese fans. Now it seems that there is an over-abundance
of information out there and it may be negative of me to say so
but I think that there is just too much, easily accessible information
which perhaps makes Japanese anime fans a little lazy. The fans
overseas have limited access to this information and I think that
they try really hard to find out more about the making of the anime,
which is similar to the domestic fans in the past. Like say that
there is an anime, the overseas fans will watch the title and then
seek out info on the people who made the work, as opposed to Japanese
fans who are more interested in the anime characters themselves
- and don't seem to care who actually made it anymore.

- Please give a message to the fans at ANIMAXIS.
TH - For those
checking out ANIMAXIS, hello! This is Hirano, the director of the
"Great Dangaioh". This work is the latest series of "Dangaioh",
created 10 years after the first. I believe that the work will be
interesting for both fans of the first series of "Dangaioh" and
the new series. We've deliberately made it along the lines of a
fairly typical robot anime, but there are lots of surprises, which
will go against your general expectations. I really hope that you
are looking forward to seeing the rest of the Dangaioh episodes!
